Sounds more like “Didn’t tell” (or more specifically like “Din’t tell”)
But yeah, that is one of the explanations he gives.

Couldn’t this just be considered a Postal Service song? I mean it’s the two of them, making their electronic music. I don’t know, it’s just something I thought. It doesn’t matter. It’s great either way.

someone asked him during an interview if dntel meant anything. he said no, and they asked if he were to make something up for it he said it would be dont tell, but that that was a bit of a stretch. so according to jimmy there is no meaning behind it. but to answer your question i dont find it curious.

@lucasino:
Taken from Postal Service’s wikipedia page, “Background:
The group formed after Gibbard contributed vocals for a song called “(This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan” from Dntel’s album Life Is Full of Possibilities. The song sparked an EP of remixes by other artists, such as Lali Puna, The Flaming Lips, Safety Scissors, Barbara Morgenstern and Superpitcher, and was so well received that the two artists decided that further collaboration was in order.”
